FM Position of propeller and engine relative to fuselage

Post by Baball » Sun Oct 06, 2019 7:37 pm

Hello everybody,

I am currently working on the FM of the CR.42 for my own use and I have found in its erection manual that the engine is set at an angle of 1.5° downwards and 0.83° to the right. Because of this I have add Position0[x;y;z] PropPosition0[x;y;z] and Vector0[x;y;z] entries to the .fmd, and two questions remain:
- Where is the point of origin of the engine relative to the fuselage ? (i.e. is the point of origin at the back, middle, or front of the engine?)
- What is the propeller's position relative to the point of origin of the engine ?

I have already made some calculations to determine the thrust vector of the engine but I don't know if I should offset the propeller and how it will influence the plane's behaviour.

Thanks
